A weekly meeting cannot carry the whole operating system. But a simple weekly rhythm can make priorities, blockers, and ownership visible enough for the team to move.

The best cadence is predictable and light. It answers three questions:

  • What matters most this week?
  • What is stuck, and who owns the next move?
  • What did we learn that should change how we work?

Keep the rhythm small

Start with a shared weekly scorecard containing three to five measures that actually signal business health. Add the week’s top priorities and the decisions that need a conversation. Keep updates asynchronous where possible, and use the live meeting for tradeoffs and help.

The meeting is not the system. The system is the repeated behavior around it: priorities are named, owners are visible, and unfinished work has a next step. That is how accountability starts to feel like support instead of surveillance.
